(from the Middle French verb mesler, which means “to mix.”)
Mélange is a mix of musical styles that spans time and space. Singer/songwriters Mahogany and Terance Hargo, along with Marcelo Mesquito (drums) and Marc Faupel (bass), blend pop, rock and Latin influences into a unique sonic experience that defies categorization, all the while infusing pop sensibilities and infectious story telling.
Band members
Mahogany is the singer and lyricist for The Band Melange. She has toured and performed with musical royalty including Gladys Night, Tim McGraw, and the Pointer Sisters, appearing on stages ranging from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville to Doha, Qatar. Originally from Chicago, she has been writing and singing her songs since the age of 11.
Along with his better half Mahogany, Terence aka Hit Man is Melange’s co-lead vocalist and songwriter. He also produces and arranges our songs. Born and raised in the Atlanta area, he honed his vocal talents in family sing-alongs led by his mom and later in church choirs. He has shared the stage with musical icons including Tim McGraw, Darius Rucker and Jerry Freeman (Earth, Wind and Fire; OutKast). He has performed for numerous celebrities including Shaq and Katie Couric. Terence also is an accomplished audio engineer and has run sound at several venues in the Atlanta area.
Marc’s primary role with Melange is holding down the low end, and he also helps with songwriting, arranging and production of Melange tunes, as well as keys and sound design. He grew up outside of NYC but more recently has opted for the sunnier climes of Georgia.
Marcello enthusiastically stirs his Brazilian mojo into Melange’s sound! As chief drummer and percussionist, he cut his teeth on everything from Brazilian metal to the distinct brand of country music popular in his hometown of Goiania. Marcello became a US citizen in 2002.
